For those of you who don't know, Forks (a tiny city in extreme northwest corner of Washington) is the setting for the Twilight Series. Stephenie picked this location because it's one of the rainest cities in the US (a necessity for her vampires). There is a yearly celebration there on Bella's birthday (September 13) and this year I attended with 154 of my friends (fellow TwilightMOMS). Here is the first part of my adventure...

Britten, Amber and I left Fresno early Thursday morning and arrived in Seattle at around 9:00am.

We met up with our group at the airport (we were broken into groups of 25), picked up our rental cars...

and headed off to Ivar's for lunch.

After lunch, we went to catch the ferry that would take us across the sound, to the 101 leading to both Port Angeles and Forks.

Once in Port Angeles, we tootled around town, went shopping at Gottschalks and wandered down by the docks. We then headed over to Bella Italias for dinner.

The restaraunt was wonderful! They made us special menus that read "Welcome TwilightMoms" and added mushroom ravioli just for us! Our waiter and sweet and funny and a bit of a clown...

After dinner, it was straight to Forks!

We found our accomodations (two lovely cabins on the Sol Duc river) and settled in for the night.

And thus ends Day 1. Check back later for Day 2 which includes the Hoh rainforest and La Push!
