Forks trip - Day 3C

After the festivities started to wind down, we drove back over to La Push to go to the tide pools at Rialto Beach. Honestly? I think I've found Heaven on earth! The beauty is indescribable! My pictures don't do it justice but they may give you an idea of how spectacular this place is.

When we arrived, the beach was socked in with fog and freezing but we were determined so we started our trek to the tide pools (about 20-30 minutes down the beach). By the time we reached them, the fog had cleared and the sun was shining brilliantly over the ocean.

Enjoy!

The sand is actually tiny, smooth pebbles that make the shore look black.

Georgia taking pictures. Her shots are gorgeous! I'l post a few of them later.

I call this one "Midnight Sun" :)

Britten's "Jacob" bracelet. Isn't that a pretty shot? Photo taken by the talented and brilliant Britten :)

We made it back just as the moon was rising and headed back to our cabin for a weenie roast.

Forks trip - Day 3A

I'm breaking this into a couple of posts because it has A LOT of pictures...

Saturday, September 13 is Stephenie Meyer's Day in Forks and the whole town participates in the celebration. There is a huge party in the park complete with vendors, live music, a costume contest, the police chief playing Charlie Swan, and an old red pick up truck as the backdrop for pictures. The high school gives a Twilight tour, private homes and businesses become locations from the story, acting as the Cullen's house and Bella's house. The local burger joint has added a Bella burger to their menu and was serving it with "blood" (lemonade with strawberry punch) and plastic fangs. The Thriftway offers a large selection of Twilight apparel (t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and postcards) and nearly all the businesses have window displays or signs celebrating Twilight. Even the hospital has put up a sign designating a private parking space for Dr. Cullen. I really loved the enthusiasm of these people and they were just as nice as could be. We were welcomed with smiles everywhere we went! So, onto the pictures...

Taken outside the Forks library. We all look a bit like vampires in this one!
